La Super Planche des Belles Filles is the climb for riders who like a sting in the tail. The lower part already climbs, but the final section is where the route becomes memorable. This is not a long Alpine pass. It is a sharp Vosges finish with a Tour de France edge.
The best route keeps the climb as the clear focus. Start close if you want a compact test, or begin from Belfort if you want a fuller day. Either way, save something for the end. The final ramps are exactly where bad pacing becomes obvious.
How to Build This Ride
- Start in Plancher les Mines, Belfort or a nearby town.
- Use calm roads to reach the base of the climb.
- Climb La Planche des Belles Filles with the final section in mind.
- Add the Super Planche finish if conditions and access allow it.
- Return by a safe descent and simple valley route.

Villages & Coffee Stops
- Belfort is the easiest base for travel and accommodation. Plancher les Mines is the practical climb anchor. Use the town before the climb to reset, because the upper section is not where you want to discover you forgot to eat.
Make it shorter
Start near Plancher les Mines and focus only on the climb.
Make it harder
Add extra Vosges climbing before the final ascent, but be careful. This climb works best when you can still ride the finish properly.
Local Notes
The final ramps define the ride. Do not judge the day by the early average gradient. Use a light gear, stay seated when needed and leave your ego at the bottom.
