Best Time to Go

A seasonal guide by region — always check current conditions before you book.

Mediterranean coast & islands (Girona, Mallorca, Nice)

Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–October) are ideal — warm enough to ride in short sleeves without the summer heat or crowds. Winter is still rideable for many and popular with training camps.

High mountains (Dolomites, Pyrenees, Alps)

Summer only, roughly June to September — many of the highest passes are snowbound outside this window and some close entirely. Check pass status before planning a trip around a specific climb.

Northern Europe (Flanders)

Spring is the highlight, coinciding with the Classics season and the best weather for cobbled roads. Summer works well too; winter riding is possible but wet and best left to committed locals.

Rolling countryside (Tuscany)

April to June and September to October offer the best balance of temperature and light. July and August can be uncomfortably hot for long climbing days.
