Aramón Valdelinares is a compact mountain finish with a clear Vuelta character. At eight kilometres, it is not one of the route’s longest climbs, but the 6.6 percent average gradient gives it enough bite to shape a race and a ride.
From Virgen de la Vega, the climb works well as the centrepiece of a shorter mountain route. It is a good option for riders who want a summit finish feeling without the full commitment of Aitana, Calar Alto or Collado del Alguacil.
How to ride it
Use Virgen de la Vega as the natural starting side.
Keep a steady cadence through the middle kilometres.
Add surrounding roads only if you want a fuller climbing day.
Where to stay
Valdelinares or nearby towns in the Teruel region make sense if you want to stay close to the climb. For broader travel logistics, look at larger towns in the area and build the route from there.
Practical tips
The climb is short enough to ride hard, but long enough to punish a bad start.
Check services in the area before relying on a café stop.
Weather can be more mountain like than the broader region suggests.
